History's Spirit
...takes you back to the Old West, to the days of the Texas Cattle Drives, with Greg Heller’s historical interpretation of Texas Drover and Lawman of the Old West Capt. William T. Allen.
Captain Allen is a composite figure developed from Greg’s research of the various 19th century cattle trails to the railheads of Kansas. Greg’s research of 19th century cowboys' clothing and equipment bring Capt. Allen to life as if he had stepped from the pages of history into your community or classroom.
Greg Heller is a retired Police Officer who has been inducted into the American Police Hall of Fame and awarded the Honor Award for his work with the children and young adults of Texas.
He is a graduate of Regional Center for Criminal Justice, Independence, Missouri; Regional Police Academy, Beaumont; and Lamar University. He is active in the Kansas COWBOY organization and a planner for the semi-annual Cowboy campouts, and a founding member of the Kansas Alliance of Professional Historic Performers.
Greg is studying history at Dodge City Community College, believing as he does that people deserve an accurate portrayal of history that is fun, too. His wonder horse, Buck, enjoys audiences as much as Greg does.
